Ottawa's WEIGHTS AND MEASURES launch their long awaited disc at Molly's (doors at 7:30, first band at 8 -- all ages/19+). Trust the webguy...this new 10-song killer rocks! See them! Buy the record!
April
15th saw a great double bill of rock 'n' roll action
at the Dominion Tavern, as Resin Scraper
and Toronto's Chickens tore up the joint.

The Chickens, who number 4 of 5 original UIC members, blew the crowd away with a slew of original rock 'n' roll thumpers! Front man Dave Robinson as always had the crowd stoked throughout the night and as these guys finished their set, the Dominion Tavern was already preparing for a return visit. Watch for the Chickens full length cd to be released on the Horseshow Tavern Record label later this summer. The Chickens and Resin Scraper will play at the Horseshoe in Toronto mid-to-late June! Go See 'em !!!

Jailhouse Rock in Montreal hosted the Legendary Lazy Cowgirls on Wednesday, April 19th with Ottawa's Dead City Rebels opening the show. The Rebels turned in a solid smokin' set and were followed by one of the greatest American rock bands of the past 20 years. Standing in front of Pat Todd and company was sheer rock 'n roll bliss and for proof positive check out their new album "Somewhere Down The Line" on SFTRI. Available here at Birdman or other fine mom 'n' pops in 'yer own local neighborhood!
Friday, April 28th at the Dominion Tavern, Birdman Sound put on a killer double-bill as Virginia's Candy Snatchers and the Dead City Rebels absolutely RAWKED the fuckin' house!! The Dead City Rebels played what I considered to be their best set yet and so impressed Bump from Black Lung Records in the States, that he offered to put out their forthcoming Man's Ruin cd on the glorious wax format!! The Snatchers then came out and crushed the over-capacity crowd with a blistering set of alcohol fueled, slash & burn rock 'n roll. Thanks to Al & the Dominion Tavern staff for hostin' such a great party!
