Both Undisputed Champions:
Tijuana Bibles vs. Starvin Hungry
September 7th 2002 / The Dominion Tavern

Here we are back in full-blown R’n’R season, with one down and many to go, started off with a sure-fire killer. Pulling no punches, the stage was set and the arena filled in time for Starving Hungry to start ‘er off with brilliance, nailing down their set with compelling swagger and energy. Now bumped up to a four piece with extra guitar, they sound even beefier than lastly and left even more room for John Milchem to showcase his outstanding talent and pure singing and songwriting virtuosity. It doesn’t get much better than this and you can expect great things from this gang. Next up was those masked and caped avengers, the fastly growing notorious, The Tijuana Bibles. Their set is always fun and action-packed, and this night was no exception. A generous set ensued, fully laced with their trademark swamp and surf rock sounds that had many shakin’ their “tail feathers” ‘til the wee hours approached. Not hard to see why they’ve caused such a stir overseas. What a party, let’s do it again please…and the clear winner is WE!!! - aardvark
